Database to map fabrics with reference values for SETEX Fabric Inspector…

Fabric weaves can be plain and simple as well as artistic and decorative.

The SETEX Fabric Inspector checks woven and non-woven fabric for thread or mesh density. The technique is used for incoming goods, in the technology laboratory and for production QC.

Goal of the project with Mr. Jain, Master-Student of HS Niederrhein University, was to broaden the instrument detection range and accuracy for various fabric types and simplifying the software use.

The project contained the representative selection of articles for the study, the analysis of fabric weaves, yarn composition and fibers, and the manual and instrumental analyses comparison.


Sustained yield

The result of this project reveals the precise technical achievement of SETEX Fabric Inspector measurements for most common fabrics with the existing preset / algorithm combinations.

New fabric weaves and properties have been characterized and clustered and next Fabric Inspector updates will provide additional detection functions via new profiles.
