WTM – Sensors for measurement of fabric temperature

The fabric temperature sensors WTM V10, V20 and V40 have been developed for fabric temperature measurements of moving textile fabrics in and around stenter and dryers. They are contactless working temperature measurement units that detect precisely and with a high degree of repetitive accuracy the fabric temperature of thermo fixation and drying processes.


The sensors WTM V10 and V20 can be used in higher ambient temperatures (WTM V10 up to 180 °C/356 °F, WTM V20 up to 250 °C/482 °F) and can be mounted inside of a dryer/stenter. The measurement head is located inside a rugged metal case and is connected to the measurement electronics by a steel flex cable. The measurement opening of the temperature probe is covered by a silicon window to protect the sensor from dust, vapors and other environmental influences. It can easily be cleaned if soiled or fogged.

The measuring range of the WTM V10 andV20 sensors is 0 to 250 °C (32 to 482 °F).

The sensor WTM V40 with its rugged aluminum housing is located outside of the dryer cabinet and connected to the inside by a stainless steel tube. Because of its narrow measurement cone it can be positioned at a larger distance to the fabric. Maintenance and service work on these sensors can even be performed during operation. The optics of the sensor are so dimensioned that the fabric temperature will be detected on an area of about 45 mm in diameter. WTM V40 sensors can be used in ambient temperatures up to 85 °C/185 °F

The measuring range of the WTM V40 is preset to 0 to 200 °C (32 to 392 °F).
