The CPU cards CP 8 (8 Bit), CP 14 and CP 16 (16 Bit) are the “command centers” of the PLC system. This central unit processes the stored PLC program; programmed tasks are delegated to specialized I/O modules and resulting information is fed back to the CPU for monitoring and control.
With the help of the decentralization board CI 16D a number of decentralized arranged Compact racks could be connected to the PLC by the DIOS field bus.
